Ok i just wanted to post this cuz i saw that a good friend may make a bad coice when purchasing the new 700xx (Cadman). Ive read way to many reviews on hondas first big bore IRS sport quad... Verdict so far is dont buy one... at least not till theyve been on the market a while and had all the kinks ironed out.
Pros: IRS = terrific ground clearence. 686cc = Lots of torquey power. ergonamic seat and rider controls = easy and comfortable to ride.
Cons: More torque and horsepower and very light in front end limits riders to gentle trail riding. IRS means NO power slide or donuts. Weighs in a nearly 600 lbs. try jumpin and man handlin this bad boy... to wide and low agility means NO tight or technical trails.
Okay, i may be biased because im a more aggressive rider, however many shoot outs have been done with the 700xx vs. Raptor 700 and 525 outlaw, with the raptor winning and the outlaw second. This may be a great general trail rider, but it hasnt really been tested over a long period of time so be warned. And i hate to say this cuz im a loyal honda buyer. I dont know about hondas new "big red"... comments?

I have to agree SpeedDemon. The 700xx has been put up against other big bore sporties (Raptor 700 and KTM 525) and Honda lost. To be more fair, they put the 700xx against the other IRS sportie (Outlaw 525) and Honda lost again. As SD mentions, the overly heavy 700xx pushes bad in to and out of corners making it a poor choice for muddy/sandy trails plus the bad front/rear weight ratio makes it hard to handle on rugged terrain/whoops/etc. For me personally, I don't like the enclosed chain drive system in the rear. Even though it allows longer rear arms, it makes working on the chain a big pain in the a$$.....and almost impossible to clean and lube right. I say leave the 700xx as a pipe dream and buy smart. If you want the displacement, the Raptor 700 has won every big bore shootout it has ever been in (and has a digital dash for '09) and if you want the IRS, it has to be the lighter, balanced and faster accelerating Outlaw 525. Plus, the Outlaw has that KTM motor which is reason enough for me! Look at the KTM quads.......on their first year as a quad manufacturer they have become the primo ATV out there......beating every other company (who have been building them for decades!!) IF you are an absolute diehard Honda buyer......then stick with the 450 or 400ex. Just my opinion!

ROFL... sorry wolf, but i think that many loyal yamaha owners would like to kick your butt for even letting it touch the seat of a honda, but i think it was peer-pressure cadman! take a look at that group picture... if it werent for the raptor WE brought, that would have been a Honda's only ride! I dont wanna crush your dreams cad i just want you to be "informed." I think if i coulda done my buying experience over, i woulda done alot more research and got a trx450r. but i cant live without reverse so im content. I have one suggestion however, if you go to hawkeye honda sometimes they have a demo model you can ride. see how it does before you ride it. it may just be another UTE without 4wd stuck in the mud at gob hill.....

Hey Clemz....you are correct about an IRS quad being able to powerslide and do 360's. The 700xx just has trouble with some of those tasks because of it's light front end. It's power and rear weight "push" the front end when you try to turn quickly. The IRS isn't the culprit, it's the poorly balanced weight ratio. Utility quads are heavy and balanced pretty good so they can use their power to perform very well, much like the IRS Outlaw. Personally, I think Cadman would be fine with one as I don't think he plans on doing any race-level speeds through the tight timbers. Or maybe I just know he HAS to get a darn Honda.....and I would hate to see him pout. hahahaaa You can always get the suspension reworked to help with the handling Cadman....so GO GET IT!!!!! ;D ;D

Speedy! To tell you the truth I do really like that black with purple flames 450r that they have over at Hawkeye Honda but as wolfboy said I have to get some good brownie points with Dixie first! I know I may lose my guy card for saying that but I really don't give a darn! But I would very much like to ride the 700xx at least once........... OK maybe twice! AND Paleride If you would dust your seat off and go riding with us someday you might just change your thoughts on that! ;D I know, I know ya don't have to even post it! ;D

Then, again, in todays housing market: who knows? ;D Skoalwolf, did you really find a price for the Quadski? I know its way more cash than I would be willing to spend but I'm curious as to how much their asking for it.
