If I was to buy a helmet, where is the cheapest or best place to go around here?
I think I want one with a face cover. Because I hate goggles and glasses don't keep the mud out that people fling at you! Plus I was thinking(not often hehe)maybe it would help keep the face a little warmer in the winter months? Do they have ones with a face cover that you can take off cuz in the summer months it might get to hot? Thanks for the info! ;D

I just bought a full face helmet at farm and fleet on john deere rd a couple of weeks ago. They had numerous styles of helmets on sale made by bell, and raider. And a few of the mx style's reduced to about half price. The full face sure makes a lot of difference in the cold air at sixty plus mph.The style I bought normally sold for $99 but it was on sale for $69. I hope this helps.

Well Pooh my opinion is get the mx style helmet. Almost all mx helmets have air vents in them which helps it ventilate a little better in the summer. The full face helmet will fog up in the cold, and usually don't have vents until you get into the higher priced helmets. As far as the goggles, I think they are something you just have to get used to. As for me I hardly ever ride with out mine as I am already blind in one eye and can't afford to loose the other. Its just not worth the risk. Goggles verses glasses also keep out a lot more dust and smaller particles that can go under glasses when riding behind someone in dry dusty conditions. Also if you buy the over the glasses goggles you can wear sun glasses or regular glasses under them but the best thing is the lens is farther away from your face and allows more air to get in. I just bought a new pair on Friday that have air vents in the lens at the top which really helped as far as the fogging when riding slow.
Ultimately it is your decision and good luck with it.

Thanks WW! I did purchase a full face helmet at Farm N Fleet. Although Ebay would have been the best bet I just need it by Saturday. I wish I could get used to goggles but I just hate them. The helmet does have two vents, one on top and one by the mouth so I don't know if that will help with the fogging up? So, I guess one way to test out the helmet for fogging up is roll down my car window and stick my head out! LOL I have worn both kinds of helmets and there's pro's & con's to both. Full face wins for the moment just because I hate goggles and yes glasses stink too. I appreciate everyone's help!! ;D

I agree with you WW, I will take goggles over a full face helmet any day! The goggles are much safer and they keep the dust out of your eyes. Pooh, as for you sticking your head out the car window to test your new helmet........ .....call me first, because this I gotta see!!! Hmmm, I think I remember driving behind Jonesz on John Deere Expressway while he was wearing his helmet, I guess he was just testing his out as well!!!

As far as fogging goes, it depends on how hard you breath. I found that breathing slow and lightly helps on the fogging up. It don't do it as bad.

Well, Dixie I will see you tomorrow. I can bring the helmet so pull out the camera! ;D LOL Or better yet pull out my fav quad and I could take a few test runs around the yard! HeHe I will have to be one with the helmet and breath slow & lightly! ;D HeHe But I really don't remember having probs when I borrowed I believe Jonesz full faced helmet. But I guess I will have to deal since I don't like goggles! I've learned though bring napkins to wipe it off or don't ride behind mudders!
