I recieved this from Vicki at Gob Hill in Atkinson, IL today:
Hey Gobbers,
I’m sure everyone is as tired of this cold weather as I am and getting very anxious to come out and ride during warmer weather! Looks like we are going to get a sneak preview this weekend for what is going to come! Unfortunately we are closing the park for a few weeks until the spring thaw is over. I know( I can hear it now) everyone loves the mud and they don’t care about the mess. Well we care about the mess that the vehicles leave in our park. Also, we have mud all year long in certain areas for everyone to enjoy. We don’t want the trails anymore rutted than they are and we also don’t want our perimeter road, or our motocross track destroyed. Another important issue is parking. It is way too muddy to get back to the area to unload and we don’t want anyone parked up front by the building because that would be another area that would get covered with mud.
So please be patient! The park will be open soon for everyone to enjoy! I will email everyone when we are reopened for riding!

Any word on when they'll have camping available there? I haven't been there in awhile, but saw the building there now. Is that done?

I don't think the building is completely done but the office in the front is now open. I'm not sure about the camping, but I would like to get some camping and riding out at the hill this year.

I'd like to camp there, too, especially if they had electric hook-ups.

When we were there two weeks ago, I asked the guy in the office if the bathrooms were functioning yet because they still had the port-a-potties. He said, no, they were waiting on the water to be hooked up. It seems like the Hill has moved kinda slow with the improvements, but I think it will be nice when completed. I know I certainly prefer a flush toilet over an outhouse any day!!!
