We are heading to heartland lodge in Nebo Illinois to ride and stay on March 28 and 29th. We have been there 2 other times and it is a great place to ride and stay! Check it out at www.heartlandlodge.com . They still had some rooms left if anyone else cares to join in? There are 7 of us going so far.

Would you mind posting a review once you get back? I've been curious about this place.
Thanks

Heartland Lodge is a great place to ride I think it has around 1500acres to ride on. The trails seem to go on forever. The trails in the timber go up and down hills and have some cool spots to go through. There is also tons of trails around in the tall grass which go up and down hills but are more kid friendly. It took us 3 1/2 hours to get there from Morrison Illinois and it was the 3rd time we have been there and plan on going back many more times. The food they serve is the best I have ever had and you never will need to eat for days. It is way better than wisconsin as far as it has some kind of challenge but the hills are not as cool as bluff creek. Heartland lodge has a hay rack ride and a campfire with marshmallows to cook. Great place to go!

I checked out the Lodge website. Looks like a great place for a couple days ride. Might be able to try it this year if anyone is interested.

I TOOK THE FAMILY THERE LAST WEEK, IT WAS OUR FIRST TIME THERE. THAT PLACE IS GOOD AS IT GETS. THE FOOD WAS GREAT. WE STAYED IN ONE OF THE SUITES, VERY NICE, HAS A BIG GAME ROOM WITH BIG SCREEN TV, POOL TABLE, CARD TABLE, OVER-SIZED LEATHER FURNITURE, VERY NICE. THE OTHER LODGE HAS CHEAPER ROOMS BUT STILL VERY NICE FOR A HUNTING LODGE. YOU CAN RENT HORSES, GO TRAP SHOOTING. I THINK YOU COULD RIDE FOR TWO DAYS AND STILL NOT SEE IT ALL. I WOULD SAY IT DOESN'T GET MUCH BETTER THAN THIS. BUT IF YOUR A PENNY PINCHER, MIGHT NOT BE FOR YOU. AND THE STAFF WILL DO BACK FLIPS TO MAKE YOU HAPPY. ;D

I think we paid around $250 for one night. That was for my family of 5 with the room, meals, and riding. Sounds high but not bad when you add it all up.

YOU CAN CHECK PRICES ON THERE WEB SITE, YOU CAN JUST RIDE FOR 25 PER ATV OR RENT ONE FROM THEM. ROOMS IN THE OLD LODGE ARE NOT SUITES AND CHEAPER, YOU CAN GET ROOMS WITHOUT MEALS, OR WITH MEALS, THE NEW LODGE COST MORE, BUT IF YOU GET THE MEAL PACKAGE YOU WONT GO AWAY HUNGRY, AND IF YOUR A GOOD TALKER THE OWNER MIGHT GET CREATIVE WITH YOUR PRICE ALL I CAN SAY IS OUR WHOLE FAMILY LOVED THE PLACE. WIFE AND TWO TEENAGE BOYS.

$250 doesn't sound bad at all considering lodging, meals, and riding. I think we might have to give that place a shot.

went there last Aug. food was good. eat untill it is gone. stayed in new lodge was very nice. trails were very ruted from the rains. they said they were going to work on them with a dozer this year. really need a 4-wheel atv. about 15 miles of timber trails rest were edges on feilds. grass feilds were on top of ridges. easy to get lost. no trails marked.
