I know this is going to be a preference thing as far as what tires are the best but what the heck! Tires for a sports quad! I'm leaning more and more to the Maxxis Razr's 6 ply all the way around! Light weight, durability and just an all around good tire! Your thoughts!

I would like to add the following statement to Cadman's debate post:
Do you recommend changing all the tires or just replacing the back? In my case I currently have new stock tires all around.

I would say replace them all! I currently run Turf Tamers on the back and Holeshots on the front! I noticed a BIG difference when changing the tires on it. I know lots of guys love the Razr's and also Holeshots!

i would have to say that if your going to buy new tires you should probly just buy them all at once becuase most places will give you a heck of a deal if you buy them together, and as far as tires go, i am a huge believer in the itp wholeshots front and back, my buddy has them on his 06 450 and they got better traction on ice then my studded tires, they are just flat out nasty ;D

Jonesz, remember I ride a 250! I don't want the tires to be bigger than my whole dang quad! LOL

As I mentioned on Dixie's ride thread......for a 250, Maxxis Razr 6 ply on all 4 corners. I replaced them in stages (rear tires first and later the fronts) so I was able to experience the difference each set made individually. The rears hooked up immediately compared to stock which tended to spin more at takeoff.......and the Razr's weren't prone to slide on fast corners as bad. The taller version I bought also gave me that extra clearance for the rutty trails. The front change was less dramatic but still obvious. The center-lined nubs on Razrs make straight-aways quieter and easier to roll with but when you turn, that center-line grabs very quickly and turns your quad right away. That caught me off guard a few times as I wasn't ready for the quick grab reaction of the Razrs on front and when they turn, YOU TURN! That was a very welcome improvement though on muddy trails....as my front s didn't just slide forward when I was trying to turn into a corner. I think ITP Holeshots would be the same way so either would get my vote. I am a huge fan of those 6 ply Razrs though.......they never failed me and I had some unfortunate mishaps that should've blew them off the rims. Also, I was able to replace all 4 tires (original Razr - 6ply) for about $260 to my front door!!

Dixie, If you were to go with razrs then I would recommend original razrs on back and razr2's on front. If you wanted to get the rears first, I have a pair of razr2 fronts in the garage that your welcome to try out. BTW razr2's on back will give you too much bite for a 250.

Dixie, Poorkawi is right, you can get "too much bite" for a 250! Seriously look at the turf tamers for the back and hole shots for the front. You are welcome to take the Mojave for a test ride, but you might not want to get back on that Honda after riding mine! I have been thinking about those tires Qdoc has right now for $90 installed a pair and they might be too heavy for a 250 powered quad! Qdoc told me that those tires weigh as much as my Turf Tamers and Rims together! I have had these tires for about a year now and they wear very good, and as you saw when we were in Solon with all that snow I was able to get traction! I think I got 2 Turftames, 2 Holeshots and 4 rims for $400 installed from Qdoc. Qdoc's son also runs the same combo on his Blaster and LOVES IT, and Qdoc also ran that combo on his 400 he used to have.

i suggest when buying tires get a new set of wheels then you always have a backup as well as ive rode places i wish i could have factory tires at such as places with large thorn trees. some of you know what im talking about.

I run 23x7x10 Kenda Claws up front and 22x11x9 Kenda Claws on the back of my 400ex. Both are 6 ply. I love these tires and I will probably never ride anything else. I did have to drop one tooth off my sprocket due to how big the tires are but I would put my Kenda klaws up against any other tire out there. I got the entire set for $200 bucks shipped to my door.

i got a set of 20x6-10 front and 18x10.5-8 kenda claws on my quad when i bought it and they were practically brand new (still had some rubber nubs on them) and after 2 months of riding every tread lug was rounded on it from the logs and rocks on the trails, i dont know if i just had bad luck with them or because they were the 18 inch rears but they hardly got any traction in snow and like i said 2 months and they were basically junk

We had an opportunity, time wise, to make it out to your place yesterday but then I remembered you were closed on Tuesdays. We are going to try and find the time to get out there yet this week or weekend to check out those tires you have in stock.
