only one problem with small shops they sometimes close during buisness hours and you waste fuel driving there. like i did friday at 4pm just to see a sign gone riding be back tuesday. little disapointed, and maybe jealous i cant do that. That's really frustrating to me! I don't care if a company is large or small, if you have business hours then you should be there with doors open during those hours of operation.

I do like ebay for somethings that you don't have to worry about sending back like stickers, hand grips, grease and mis items. But when it comes to big ticket items I would rather touch and feel as well. There is nothing to say you can't shop around and get one place going against each other to give you the best price. In this day and age if you aren't willing to deal on your products some one else is. I just bought a new truck last week and it is funny how some dealers will treat you! I have to say there are some that lost a sale just because they would say this is our price take it or leave it! I understand every in business is in it to make money but you have to be realistic in todays world because of the INTERNET. Dealers 30 or 40 miles away will beat a price just to get your business or make that commission. So I guess you could say I do buy on line or even better I use it as a tool to make the best informed decision I can on buying a big ticket item.

I know this is an old thread, but I recently had a sucky experience with Brenny's. First off, early 2007 I was out that way and had some time to kill so I stopped in and ordered an owner's manual (I bought my Eiger used). They guy told me it could take a few months since they only print them every so often. Fine. Well, months go by and I don't hear anything. I call and they don't know what the he77 I'm talking about. I give them my invoice# and the parts dude vows to take care of it. A few more months go by and nothing. I call again, speak to someone else and spend another 20 minutes to get the same answer. Still no manual. This Friday, I called them because I needed rear brakes for my Eiger. Normally I'd either call the QDOC or get my parts online, but I wanted to get the Eiger fixed this weekend and I didn't think QDOC would stock the rear brakes (I know he's got the fronts). So I called Brenny's before I drove out there and they said they have them. I get there and the guy behind the counter gives me a set of front pads. I tell him "no - that ain't it, I need the rears" and so he goes into the back. He comes out and says he doesn't have them and that he can order them. Well, I live west of Andalusia and Brenny's is in East Moline, so you can understand my frustration. I told the guy this and got no response, not even an effing, half-arse apology. I got my money back for the owner's manual that I never got and told him I'd never be back.
From here on out, either QDOC is getting my bidness or I'm buying stuff online. Somewhat of a middle ground as far as this debate goes.

I don't usually like to bad mouth business's but I don't know what is going on with Brenny's in East Moline. A couple weeks ago my 16 year old nephew went in there and ordered an air filter for his mini bike. The guy behind the counter must have been new because he kept having to ask his co-workers questions about the sale. The part gets ordered, my nephew pays but neglects to get a receipt, after a few days he goes in to pick up the part and they want to charge him again for the part and an argument erupts when they refuse to believe he had already paid for the part. To make a long story short he eventually has to pay twice for the same air filter and in the end learned a valuable lesson that you never leave a place without the receipt.

Hey Dixiechick. From Brenny's standpoint, was that $20 air filter sale really worth losing a customer for life? It just boggles me that they wouldn't take the kid's word even without a receipt. I know I paid for the manual before they ordered it, so this must be standard procedure. So, why would they order the part if he hadn't already paid for it? Anyway, if they can't handle a simple parts sale, then what would make you think they'd take care of you if you bought a new quad or cycle there? Like I said, I'll never go back.

Wow some of those expierences are bad, but unforuntaley they are what they are. Brenny's are known for that around here and I myself have gotten screwed over from them too.
I had Qdoc rebuild my motor a month before I was supposed to go on a Wisconsin trip. Right before the trip my Carb was needing rebuilt which is something I normally do but I just didn't have the time. I dropped my quad off at Brenny's in Bettendorf and had them rebuild the carb and adjust it. I picked it up got to Wis and rode all day and the damn thing was running like crap by the end of the day.
When I got back home my quad would not start, I ended up finding ot that when the reinstalled my carb they didn't have it sitting in the boot correclty and 1/4 of the carb was sitting out in the open sucking sand, water and whatever else went through it. After some diganostics I did not have any compression in my motor.
I went down with my quad and Brenny's tried making up every excuse in the book why they did not cause that damage. I ended up paying quad doctor again to rebuild my motor because Brenny's mistake caused engine damage.
Since then I refuse to go to Brenny's and I try to warn everybody I know about them!!
Oh and on the parts ordering at Brenny's, you have to prepay to order any part there even if you call and order over the phone. It sure sounds like someone saw a easy "scam" and got it.
I am very loyal to Qdoc for many reasons, he has always taken care of me, I have called him in a rush needing something and he has been able to put my quad ahead of others to get it going again, get parts ordered on a rush, etc. etc. He has always stood behind the stuff he sells.
That my friends is why I typically dont' order online I have someone to go back to if I were to have a problem..

I agree, Twister; I understand that my nephew should have gotten a receipt and Brenny's have every right to refuse giving him the part but whatever happened to the term "The customer is always right"? I am sick to death of poor customer service anymore and I don't know how many times Cadman and I have had this conversation after receiving poor service at places. Unfortunately it seems to be getting worse instead of better and I for one certainly hope this is not a sign of the times.

I think it is a big sign Dixiechick! Us customers don't get the respect we deserve anymore, I am starting to feel that alot of businesses have the motto "they need us" and that they can treat us any way they want. You would think they would be kissing our butts to keep us customers with all the stuff you can buy online now....
