Where do you get your parts from? Do you typically buy them online? Do you go to a local dealer? Or do you do a little bit of both? Vote above for what you do and post below your reasons why!

I typically get my parts from the Quad Doctor in Andulusia, IL. I like getting parts from the same person every time, not a computer. I know if I were to have a problem with my parts I could always go back to my Dealer for help, and besides I like supporting my local dealer. I do however buy used parts off of Ebay if I can.

Posted by mojo on Today at 1:03pm I would have to agree with you Mojo, I have no problem ordering off the internet but I would prefer to support my local dealers even if item "X" was a little more money, customer service still stands for something with me.

I agree except I go to the "other" Qxxd 'Dxxxxr' in Annawan, IL.

Do you really feel the need to continue to bad-mouth another shop to me? That's what you did the first time you even met me. What makes you think that myself or the other guys would actually want to do business with you when the other guy has treated us very well and all you can do is whine about a business name. You really need to work on your approach to this subject and leave the paying customers out of it. Most of us like to shop around at multiple shops, but not the whiny ones. edit; Mr. moderator please remember this is posted in the debate section.

I'm truly not trying to stir the pot here, quite the contrary, so both sides please bare that in mind as you read this. I am not aware of the apparent history of conflict between these two businesses nor do I want to be informed of it. I will admit that it does get a little confusing with two businesses having almost the same name but that sounds like a legal issue between the two that should be settled in a court room and not on this forum. I for one appreciate the fact that the Quad Doctor in Andalusia, IL is nice enough to offer up his expertise on this site to anyone who asks. I guess we could look at the bright side and use all of the apparent conflict in the same manor as the Brenny brothers have over the years to promote their businesses, but that again is for them to decide. Like I said at the beginning of this post, I'm not trying to stir the pot or make light of what appears to be a very sore spot, let's just agree to disagree and get back to the debate at hand.....what was that again?.....Oh yeah, Online Parts vs Local Dealer.

It kinda funny this little debate area is doing just what it was meant to do! You say black. I say white! I kinda like it. It's kind of like a car wreck you can't drive by with out looking! Yes you both have good points but your not going to like mine. At least not at first. One Person started a new business and it was great but one thing this person didn't do was to protect his business by doing his home work. Finding out how to make his name trademarked so no one could infringe on it. This being said this person has to take some of the blame for this problem. Person # 2 started a business as well and this person didn't do his home work as well. If you wanted to set yourself apart from the competition why would you take a name so close to a competitor name. I would have to say in my opinion not a good choice. AND for you Mr Poorkawi, I think its great you have a opinion on this subject but you know I can't remember a shop that did not bad mouth one for some reason or other. It business today,That doesn't make it right but it happens every day. Business will come and go but the ones that give great service and deliver quality products will always be there! Not because they beat up on each other because they stayed true to what sets them apart great service, quality products and good business ethics! Wow you would think I would own a business or something! So all in all if the two persons did the research and homework we would not be having this debate! Now only if the MR Admin will leave us alone ;D

I personally like the biggest ATV parts dealer in the world.....EBay!!! They have the best selection of new and USED parts for every ATV made!! ;D As Cadman mentions...if you do your homework, you will have nothing but a perfect experience!! Since most parts are warrantied/guaranteed by the 'Manufacturer', not the dealer......it really doesn't give a buyer much advantage using a dealer for parts. If the part I buy online is faulty, I can send it to the manufacturer just as easy as returning it to the dealer and waiting for him to just send it back to the manufacturer. Plus......I have NEVER had an EBay seller tell me the part isn't in stock......otherwise it wouldn't be on there to begin with!! I know people have bad experiences with online shopping, but again....homework, experience and a keen eye to details will make your EBay shopping a great option every time! Plus, I have heard about far MORE bad experiences with dealers than I have ever heard about online. There's my input........

Well I guess it is my turn to throw my 2cents in. I would really love to see the QCquaddoc vs Quaddoctor debate not go any farther than it already has. I do know Admin set up the forum where "anything goes", but I personally don't think Qcquaddoc vs Quaddoc will end on a good note. I am sure both businesses give great customer service and Quad service to their customers. I personally am happy with Quad Doctor, and from what I hear Poorkawi is happy with the QCQuad doctor so lets please just let this one die out. Now to get back on the original topic buying online vs local dealer...... I met Quad Doctor thru the Two Rivers ATV Club on a Club ride to Solon. A couple hours into the ride I broke my chain, Quad Doctor was there and told me to bring it by and he would hook me up to make the next ride to the cliffs. I was kinda against going out there because it is a long drive from Leclaire,IA to Andalusia, IL. He ordered my DID O-Ring chain and put it on for a small fee. He actually met me in Rock Island to pick up my quad so I didn't have to drive all that way to his shop. Quad Doc called me when he was done, and asked if I was still planning on going to the Cliffs Insane Terrain ride. He said well if that is the case then do you want to ride with me and split the gas and he would just bring my quad with him and have my quad already strapped down on his trailer for no extra cost. Since then I have been sold on local dealers and have become great friends and a dedicated customer with Qdoc. ;D Now for my bad experiences with buying on EBAY............. I bought a "bolt on" Flowmaster Dual Exhaust for my Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 off a Ebay user with GOOD feedback. Once I received the exhaust I tried putting it on, and I just couldn't get it to work. I finally gave up and went down to Master Muffler on Locust St. and they said I had the wrong pipes. They sold me the correct pipes and put the exhaust on my truck. I contacted the Ebay Seller trying to work out a partial refund since I still used the Muffler, but I was willing to send back the pipes and tips. The seller did not like that and said he has never had a problem before and I could not get a refund. I asked Ebay for help on this, and they denied my claim. Now get this, 9 months later the factory weld broke on my Flowmaster muffler so I called Flowmaster. I told them the whole story and they said they don't even sell a "bolt on" kit for the 2500 4x4 Rams. I ended up paying WAY TOO MUCH for a exhaust that is leaking! Heck for the amount of money I have in this, I could have bought a Stainless Steel exhaust for my truck. Now for the really really bad deal I got off of Ebay (yes I am full of bad luck) I bought 2 used tires (never, ever, ever again) off of Ebay (my tires cost $250 new a piece!) off of ebay for a good price. They were supposed to have good tread on them (they did), but the seller forgot to mention the tire had been plugged. I blew the tire on the interstate going about 75mph and this was the result... I had to file a insurance claim to replace my bumper, tail light, and Driver Side entire bed! I can't remember how much the total bill was, but it was definitely way more than what it would have cost me to buy those tires new. I actually had a friend who is the manager of Bauer Built tires look at my tire and said it was the plug and this is exactly why you don't plug tires. I have actually had good experiences on Ebay but the bad ones, were BAD! My buddy just bought a used Supertrapp exhaust, frame and axle for his Honda 200x ATC off of Ebay and all of the parts were in GREAT shape and EXACTLY in the shape the seller described. I also sell many things on Ebay, and have never had a problem but I prefer to buy NEW from a dealer and USED off of Ebay. I would never, ever buy NEW from Ebay ever again! I have learned my lesson on that one. Okay I am tired now from typing this LONG post! ;D
