No Question with out a doubt is St Joe State park Missouri for camping and riding. The trails are groomed daily by a local club and the park itself. The sand is a blast! The cost is CHEEP! $ 3.00 a day per quad. $ 16.00 per day to camp and that included electrical and water. This park is one of the cleanest park I have ever seen. They have a laundry room, shower room and several restrooms all over the park. They even have a place to clean your quad or bike. A small lake with a sand beach for swimming. A sand play area for the kids and a place to play volleyball. If you like to ride and camp this place is a must! If you are planning to go here and spend several days you must call for reservations because most weekends are booked up but weekdays are open for the most part. For me this is a 5 STAR park! www.mostateparks.com/stjoe.htmIts located about 1 hour south of ST Louis Mo. I left out the best part! The trails start from several places in the camping area! We drop the ramps and hit the trail!

Well I have to agree with Cadman, I really like St Joe State Park in Park Hills, MO, I had a really good time there. I have been to the cheese trail in WI but I wasn't real impressed, the trail system is in the place of an old railway lines and you can ride literally hundreds of miles on it. The scenery is quite nice but the trails have a base of pea gravel and when we were there it was really dry and the dust was so bad you could hardly take a breath or see more than 5 feet in front of you. I would still like to try some of Wisconsin's other trails though, maybe farther up north next time. I have also been to The Cliff's Insane Terrain in Marseilles IL and this was another park that I was less than impressed with. The trails were not maintained at all and were very rutted up, however, some of the other people we went with really liked this park and the hill climbs, so I guess every park will have it's own pro's and con's depending on what type of terrain you prefer. One of my other favorite places is Bluff Creek OHV in Oskaloosa IA, it's only a couple hours away and it offers primitive camping which is a huge plus to us. Bluff Creek is not that big of a park but it certainly has a lot to offer and for all skill levels. These pictures were taken this last Oct 2007 at Bluff Creek OHV in Oskaloosa IA: [/img]

It's a toss up for me. I have not made alot of trips to parks over a couple hours away, but my favorite two thus far are easily Bluff Creek in Oskaloosa, and Brushy Ridge in Astoria. They both have awesome hills to play on and good areas to jump. Oskaloosa wins in the jumping department. They have 4 ,yes 4 MX tracks. 1 kids, 1 beginner, 1 practice, and 1 flippin crazy. Then theres Astoria. This place has some of the wildest rolling hills and straight up climbs I have found out there. ;D

I was browsing through some of the old posts and I ran across this thread. I thought with all the new members, maybe this topic should be brought back up and besides, the great pictures make me long for warmer weather! Admin, what do ya think? Should we make this topic a sticky thread? So newer members, where is your favorite place to ride?

I am absolutly DYING to go to Brushy Ridge. I was told its not a good idea to go there on a sport quad when there is snow or ice due to it being extremely dangerous. I am going to shoot for a date sometime in the spring to go down there. I'll put it up in the LET'S RIDE section whenever I can set a date to see if anybody else wants to go.

Wow, Brushy Ridge is like a cemetary........People are just DYING to get in!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D Sorry you guys, but you left that one WIDE open!!! Anywho!!! I have also heard Astoria can be dangerous in the winter due to their cliffs but the park is suppose to be real nice. I would like to see this park as well but unlike you guys, I am LIVING to get in!!! ;D (Corny, I know!)

my favorite place has to be in Ogles ( i think thats the right way to spell it) but its an old mineing quary that has like 300 or 3000 acres ( lol i know its a stretch but i know it started with a 3 and we rode all day n the guy i was with said we didnt hit a tenth of the trials) its not a public park or known in anysort of way ( the locals like to keep it secret). it has anything you could want hills, trails, jumps, bluffs, and GREAT places to stop n have lunch anysort of riding for any sort of rider. as soon as my boss' brothers calls n wants to go riding again ill ask if the M.A.R. can come and post on the lets ride section, like i said the locals keep it a secret but ill pull for us. ;D
P.S. i suck at spelling you will probly find that out if you read some of my posts

Sounds like a great place to ride DCHonda. I'm sure if this is a legal riding area we would love to get an invite the next time you go. Don't worry about spelling errors, none of us on here are English teachers, at least I don't think so anyway!

Just got back from St. Joes. That was far and away the best camping trip I've ever taken. The facilities there rocked. The riding was excellent. This may sound trivial, but there were no mosquitoes or any of them GD gnats. There were only a few mud holes, but they were fun. Miles of trails, open areas, some water, great variety. Best place I've ridden.

I've been thinking of you Twister! I knew you were down there with the buggy crowd and I was hoping you were going to post about it. I was so glad to see you had a great time and the park held up to our rantings! Apparently the flooding is not effecting the park any or you would have mentioned it, I didn't think it would be a problem though. I did think the bugs would be an issue with all the rain they have had but I guess we are good to go on that issue as well, funny thing about the bugs down there.....there aren't any!!! ;D I thought we had just gotten lucky when we went last September because we didn't get a single mosquito bite, I wonder if they spray with something.....Hmmmm! I would love to see you post some pictures of your trip if you have any!

I must be an idiot as I can't figure out how to post pics. HELP! Give me some pointers and I'll get some pics up here. We got some good ones.
There were a ton of Pilots and Oddys there along with the buggy crowd. The Hammerhead held up alright although the rear fenders both broke off and the muffler shook itself apart. The Eiger kept stalling in a couple feet of water until we figured out there was a hose that comes off the carb that was hanging down when it shoulda been hangin up! It would get in the water and then die. Fixed that and no probs. Some of the mud holes were like freakin peanut butter. You knew you were in trouble as soon as you hit it.
