How to install atv graphics properly
~ no bubbles, firm stick - professional result!
Preword
It is important that graphics be applied in a warm area. Graphics or number plate backgrounds are more pliable and easier to install in warm conditions. It is also important to have the plastics completely clean and dry before applying the new graphics or backgrounds.
1. Preparing the body plastics (very important!)
First clean your body plastics to the fullest! Make sure there is no dirt, grease or dust on the plastics.
Newt, we suggest making a soapy solution of water and 2-3 drops of Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo in it. Put the solution in a spray can. Spray the surface your putting the graphics on medium wet. This allows you to move the graphics around to get the right position you want.
Some products that work great for making a soapy solution:
- Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo
- Window Tint Applyer Spray (no water needed)
2. Applying the graphics (no bubbles)
- First heat the sticker with a hair dryer untill it's warm to the touch
- Then Peel back a small section of the graphic to be applied from the leading edge and fold the backing flat underneath. Now you can lay the sticker flat against the plastic to make sure everything lines up. If there is any screw holes line up the cut outs. Apply more solution as needed to help you align better.
- Use a squeegee to apply presure, working your way out from the center. This will limit air bubbles to a minimum.
- Once the whole sticker is applied, squeeze out any air bubbles and give it a good rub down with a rag while applying a bit more heat, this makes sure it has stuck well. If you still have a few air bubbles underneith the graphics, our Undo air bubbles on applied atv graphics tip offers the solution.
Allow to dry and you have profession results!
