Do riding boots keep your feet warm? Or do you perfer just the regular everyday boots? I know riding boots have shin gaurds so when my X bits me, it would offer more protection!

I wear insulated winter boots in the winter but in the warmer weather I wear leather boots. My boots are not riding boots but they offer me more protection than if I were just wearing tennis shoes. You could invest a lot of money in protective gear, boots, chest protector, etc., however, most of us usually just wear jeans/riding pants, shirt, boots, helmet and gloves. I am certainly not knocking more extensive protective gear, however, it can get pricey, so most of us just do the best with what we have.

when im racin, i definitely where boots, they provide protection and support, however can be uncomfortable over long periods of time. when we are out joyridin, a nice pair of high top boots works great. the old black combat boots that you can pick up online or at a surplus store is what i use

I have a pair of Alpinestars Ive had for probably 6 years or so. I can ride all day in them with out any discomfort. In the winter I wear MSR's thick socks, keep me pretty warm when riding in the cold.
